Amateur Radio — Still works!
Amateur Radio does not rely on expensive and intricate infrastructure (support equipment). Each operator can be completely independent of the local power, whether using batteries, solar panels, generators or other individual sources of power. They are also capable of communications locally or over great distances, depending on needs and individual capabilities.
A popular license plate frame reads: “When all else fails —- Amateur Radio”.
“Ham” radio is extremely versatile whether for hobby or for emergency communications.
